Change Has Come To The White House… Website

The White House

If you have’t seen the new White House government site, I have to say that Obama’s web guys know what they’re doing.  Nice feature rotator, inviting color scheme, and easy-to-use links to all the important parts – kudos to the people behind this website.

The coolest part, as mentioned by @allenfuller, is that the inside pages have the oval office walls at the top.  It’s almost like you’re sitting behind the desk.  Very subtle, but very inviting.

  • Sure it will be really innovative service for the general public or community. Hoping for ton of fun!
  • I also liked how quick they were to change the site over to its new format as soon as Obama took office.
  • The new design is a vast improvement and it does look like they intend to engage a larger audience. The site is rich with hi resolution and clean images... overall the home page loads at slightly below 800K making it large, but not anything that Google might frown on.
  • I really think it is great that President Obama is in the white house now... He's actually also the first US President who made good use of the internet in building a large community!
Let's hope we remain positive the oncoming years! ;-)
  • I think it's cool that the White House website got a well-deserved face lift and that President Obama is making it a point to have a strong and modern web presence. No surprise though, since he took advantage of technology in general and the Internet specifically all during his campaign. It helped gain the interest of a lot of people, especially young people like me, and I believe that's what helped him win. I hope the White House website does stay up to date like promised. I look forward to it.
  • The new White House website is pretty sweet...Very clean interface and I love the layout.

  • I was really impressed by the new white house site. I'm glad they got a new media person working on it. Was super impressed that Obama is going to be making weekly video addresses.Good to see the president jumping on board with the net.
