Why WordPress?
For those of you who are unfamiliar with WordPress, it is an open source, dynamically driven blogging (and content management) software released by the folks over at Automattic. In English, that means that instead of having to worry about mounds of HTML files, the content is pulled from a database kept on the server. What that gives you is a super amount of control on what your site can look like, and you can easily change looks without losing the content you’ve already put in.
I do most of my web designs in WordPress for a number of reasons. One, it allows you as the client to go in after I’ve set it up and add/change/remove content at will. It also generates an RSS feed, which allows other sites to easily syndicate and promote content you’ve created. Finally, WordPress has one of the largest support communities in the software world. If you want something done, it can more than likely be done with WordPress with a code segment, a plug-in, or even some customization of the core itself.
What does Mitch Do?
